| Ok, as some of you know i aquired a classic sti jap import not long ago, i already started a on going project thread but something's got in the way, and to make things worse, my headgasket has Shit itself, oil/water mixed, squirted out of the overflow bottle all over the place. I was hoping to leave the engine for the time being to focus on the minor issues to the bodywork. But now I'm forced to scrimp and save to fork out for a headgasket kit and everything else that's involved to sort the car out. In a way I'm pleased its happened and now the car can last for a few more years. I think i got stung getting the car but i crash in all the time and pay the consequences. This as an example. I'm hoping i can get the car sorted for NBO as I want to go in my own motor, being on a shit wage doesn't help at all but I'm determined to make this car a very clean example and bring it back to what it should be. 1st stage is the engine due to headgasket. So, before its gets lifted from the bay this is what it looks like now, after it got covered in manky water. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]More to follow in due course. | |

| Mate most of us are on crap wages but we get there in end wouldn't be any fun getting it sorted out in a day time and patients get us there and lots of graft waiting for next pay check to come for more parts took me a year to get it the way it is so far | |

| Why not rip the engine out yourself and get it rebuilt ? Least that way you know it's in good nick and you can clean and paint bits when it's stripped.
Rather rebuild your than buy another complete renting as you never really know the history. | |

| Can't afford a rebuid mate or it would of got done. When engine is out and getting heads skimmed, the bay and engine is getting a good clean up. Didn't really want another engine as I could of ended up in the same boat but it was the best cost wise. Looked into a CDB but it was just the short block not long so left me with getting mine repaired. Least i know its getting done and it will be ok. | |

| [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Last weekend, i thought id spend a few hours cleaning. Took I/C bottle, all air intake, turbo inlet pipe, strut brace, windscreen bottle, the little jap battery and a few other things off to give a good clean. Also cleaned the inner wings aswel, took some getting off and grazed knuckles, but worth it as it was a complete mess. Under battery tray was worst as thats where it shot itself. Getting there now. | |
