| NBO UPDATE 2 = MAY 2014
First of all we are pleased to confirm the following traders will be with us on the day to add to those announced last month and we are constantly working to get as many as possible for the NBO for the benefit of everyone:
1. Performance Creations from Bolton will be selling a full range of their bespoke mud flaps and rallflapz for Subaru’s of every persuasion, they have also kindly donated a full car set as a prize for the charity raffle/auction. 2. CarBen Fibre creations from Leeds will have a range of products on sale at NBO 12 from their extensive tuning and of course carbon fibre ranges. 3. Group.B Motorsport from Deeside will be attending NBO 12 with a range of their Subaru related tuning products on offer. 4. Evans Waterless Engine Coolants from Darlington will have a display of and will be selling their advanced and specialist products for high performance engines.
We now have around the 280 mark for cars attending NBO 12 but this is not as yet reflected on the master list, sticky above on this Scoobynet page, this is due to all the clubs wanting to block book. But please could all the club organisers transfer their blocks over to the main list at their earliest convenience because as always we have to sort out the public liability insurance and H&S risk assessments for the event. This is a legal requirement for an event of this nature so please can you all sort the main list out. Hopefully we will get to the 300 Subaru mark on the day. Please spread the word and help us maintain the Subaru community tradition.
The entry donation remains the same again this year = £10. With all proceeds going to The Children’s air Ambulance. As will the proceeds of the charity raffle and auction which will be held on the day. Faye and her team will be with us on the day collecting for this very worthy cause. The gates open to the public at 1000 hours and we will start judging at 1000 hours also. But can we ask all clubs to be aiming to be on the field and set up as early as possible. From 0730 onwards via the usual tradesman’s entrance. We have a lot to get through. Classes for the ring to be judged are as follows:
1. Classic Imprezas 2. Bug Eye Impreza 3. Blob Eye Impreza 4. Hawk Eye Impreza 5. Hatch and Saloon Impreza 2008MY+ 6. All other Subaru Models
Judging will run throughout the day and will be managed by Gus the ring master and manager of the team of judges who include Andy Rae , Steven Wood , Rob Ostle and more to be confirmed.
We will have another competition this year which will be reflecting the transition of Subaru as a classic performance marque = The Northern Best Original or NBO Test. This will be done via a self-assessment questionnaire which will then be validated and verified by the NBO team to see who has the most original Subaru and wins the trophy on the day.
The club stands will also be judged by the clubs themselves as per last year: ONE CLUB == ONE VOTE
We have 10 clubs who will each vote on the TOP FIVE only by visiting each stand and awarding marks subjectively. Obviously clubs don`t mark their own stands. Then the marks will be validated and verified by the NBO team. More detail on this to follow next month. The sheets are self-explanatory and we want to keep things nice and simple and the clubs can design their stands exactly as they wish. Trophies are awarded for the top five club stands. This will be completed by 1300 hours at the latest as per the NBO test.
We are once again proud to have our superb Master of ceremonies Martin Reay in charge of proceedings from behind the microphone with his tried and tested professional media expertise backed up with Subaru knowledge. We know it’s the world cup again but the matches in Brazil all kick off in the evenings so don`t panic people!
More news to follow soon!

I was asked for an early estimation, I said 60-80 as we had 78 on the list last year and this year we have nearly 300 more members. That do ya ? | |
