Hello ladies & gents.
I have had this car for a few months now and its progressing nicely, just not as quick as I had hoped haha. It is a 2005 blob WRX STi widetrack with the DCCD.
I bought it more or less standard in September last year - it came with the PPP conversion, crappy Bailey atmospheric DV & Mongoose turbo back decat exhaust.
The clutch was poor but at 71k on the clock it wasn't a surprise so it went off to MB Motorsport for am Exedy pink box clutch kit with lightweight racing flywheel. When stripped apart the problem was found - the outer ring gear on the flywheel had come apart from the flywheel and damaged the starter as well. This was replaced as well.
Of course the new clutch needed bedding in
Since then I added a Perrin short ram intake, GFB 50/50 DV, Perrin boost solenoid before it went to Scoobyclinic for a check over and a custom mapping session done there it made 333bhp & 345Ib/ft.
I do come from a car mad family so we go for runs out as a family, the WRX is my parents & the 182 is my brothers:
Since then the boot has been debadged, changed numberplate & sidelight bulbs to xenon white LED's and changed indictors to silvervisions. Also split the headlights and repainted them satin black and fitted a carbon exhaust surround:
Also took out a rats nest of handsfree cap, radar jammer and few other bits:
Also added the RB320 rear diffuser along with Cusco rear chassis brace which holds it nicely in place:
Now things started getting focused ready for my planned trackdays:
- BC Racing Monotube inverted coilovers with top mounts all round
- Ultra racing 23mm front ARB
- Ultra racing 23mm rear ARB
- CDF racing front and rear droplinks
- CDF racing anti lift kit
- OZ Superleggera wheels
- Yokohama AD08r tyres
- TPi forged alloy wheel nuts
- Performance Friction 2 piece front discs
- Godspeed rear discs
- Goodridge phantom brakelines
- DS2500 pads all round
- Motul RBF600 brake fluid
Just need to try my new arch roller out to get the lips on all the arches flushed.
The superleggeras came in silver but with a bad finish so these went off to SEM in Sunderland, I have brand new carbon centre caps and OZ spigot rings so looks brand new now:
M3 rear lip spoiler added:
That brings me neatly onto todays job - getting the engine bay looking tidy - cleaned it up with the following:
- Mishimoto radiator brackets
- Perrin battery strap
- Rally tech stainless bolt kit with anodized red washers
- STi accessory oil cap
- STi accessory header tank cap
- Carbonmods cambelt cover
- Black rad panel with SCR logo
Just need a couple of parts to turn up then its service time along with full alignment at Revolution before I can enjoy it again haha.
Will be in for engine work soon but need to nail a spec down first
Hope to see members at a meet soon
Cheers
Rob
