| No mate its just started doing this since yesterday. Ive done nothing to the car so nothing dusturbed. Plys its only the sound that goes off. It still plays the cd as can see the track time going up. Still get full function of radio just no sound at all . Once i stop the car turn ignition off then bak on its fine. As soon as i start the engine it goes quiet as if mute is on but its not. Ive necer ever seen anything like it so im well puzzled with it | |

| Your stereo mute wire may be earthing out due to the vibration of the engine running, normally a Yellow wire, I would check that its properly insulated first. I would also check that the plug for the speaker connection is plugged together nice and tight. Failing that get it tested in another car and see if it still does the same - if it does then the internals are knackered - time for a new one. Was going to post - Well get a quieter exhaust system | |

| Kush thats a sore point as its a tad noisey and now its all i can f'ing hear even when i switch it if i hear it lol. Good point that one mate ill check it out as i thought its either earthing a speaker wire or something due to vibrations as ive noticed they do give it some rummbling compared to a regular engine. Hope its rattled the internals to bits so can get new one . | |

| As usual everything depends on budget, but you do get value for money on speakers. I'm not sure what model scoob youve got but Ive got 6.5" / 17cm components up front in my newage and a sub in the back with a dedicated amp for the fronts and a monoblock running the woofer. I always check car audio direct for deals, Ive done very well by them and they are good lads. http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/index.phpYou can get a reasonable set of comps (with passive crossover unit) for about £60+post and go up in quality from there. In the £85-95 bracket youve got Alpine and then some really nice Hertz and Focal gear. You might need to make some baffles to mount them and also clear the windows, but there are loads of guides and I made my own and if I can do it, you can do it. Happy to discuss pro's and cons with you, coz Ive been through it all. | |
